Following the sighting of an iPod nano ripoff widely available in the market, hamkahlink.com resident reviewer decided that she would wanna check the MP4 player out herself! She made a brief reviews on the unit and here is the details.

Trix 1GB MP4 Player an Ipod Nano Ripoff - Made In China.
First look, even some touches (with the screen off) it’s identical with Apple’s latest creation, Ipod Nano. 1gb @ RM300(USD81). And mind you this ripoff allows you to use as thumb drive.

Other than basic mp3/wav player, this minature plays mp4, even though it’s hard to see lyrics if you plan to have a karaoke session as the screen is only 1.5 inch. Nevermind about it, you are bored and you have no more songs to play, fear not, as there’s FM radio. Not enough? Voice recording. Text Viewer & Jpeg Viewer.
All these goodies that came bundled with is already good enough to cover up the ‘kinda slow ram’ and an ugly flowery display. And, if you skipping song, there’s auto fade in/out. Now that’s something thoughtful. But this feature isn’t good for those who likes Ah Beng Thai Club Bistro Non-stop songs. That sucks with the auto fade in/out.
This made in China mp4 player can last about 6 hours in battery saving mode, and you can charge either via usb, or an AC adapter provided. Comes with a free condom-style protector, no fear that it’ll scratch like how fragile an nano is. And that’s FOC. No need to purchase additional protector like the expensive Belkin or iskin.

The quality of the Sound, well it’s satisfactory but the con is, the stereo jack is a 2.5mm instead of a normal 3.5mm. Hence if you need to change to a better earphone or speaker, you need a converter jack which is sold at RM10 (USD3). Widely available online ( www.lelong.com.my / forum.lowyat.net) or at Lowyat Plaza (K.L. Malaysia)And i believe this juke box that i’ve gotten caters for lefty. As the stereo jack is sitting RIGHT on the bottom right. Blocking any smooth movement with the right hand.So far, i’m superbly satisfied with this new toy of mine even with some problems with the jack position & it’s size. RM300 (USD81) vs RM709 (USD190) ? what else could you ask for?
