Trix 1GB MP4 Player an iPod Nano Identical Twins

I received this Carrefour Monthly Promotion booklet in my mailbox a few days ago, I was going through the booklet when I saw this iPod Identical Twins Trix 1GB MP4 Player on sale for only RM569.00
This is the Trix 1GB MP4 Player advertised in Carrefour March SALEabration March 18-26 2006 issue in Malaysia. It is also advertised here this Trix 1GB MP4 player also has recording feature built and together with a FM radio. All in all for only RM569 approximately USD150
Now lets take a look at iPod nano, first there is no FM tuner and no voice recording. But you can do lotsa other stuffs with iPod Nano like : Full-color album art and photos. Podcasts. Audiobooks. Games, clocks, contacts and calendars.
Now we basically know what both player can and cant do, now lets look at the price. No doubt you will save around RM140 (USD38) but you are comparing an iPod with an unknown brand here. There is a very high possibility that Trix might be made in China, so reliability and quality will be the main consideration. Judging from the price different of RM140 I would definitely go for iPod nano rather than the Trix.
